NYC Adventures | Part 2 | Taking a Bite of the Big Apple

On day 3, it was time to take our bite of the big apple and we did.  But I gotta say that no matter how many times I visit NYC I still feel like a tourist and not just in the touristy areas but everywhere, that is one busy city.  You would think that being from SF I could handle the hustle & bustle of it all, but find I myself lost in all there is to see…and therefore I look like a tourist with my trusty OM-D around my neck, my mouth hanging open from looking up at the buildings and the fact that I’m constantly trailing behind to snap a shot (side note,  reason #273 why I love Mike is that he does an amazing job never loosing me as I wonder off).  That being said… I love it.

Mo & Drea were the best tour guides ever!  We walked, we cabbed, we trained, we ate, we drank, we partied, we shopped, we made new friends, we saw the sites, we Baseballed, we even got a taste of NY meter maids (they suck) then we ate some more and we drank some more…it was awesome.   We totally need to step up our game next time you guys our way…Thank you!

We rolled around with the top down which is really awesome unless you’re in the backseat on the freeway (learn something new everyday, sorry Mel!)

I’m always saying how much I love being part of my clients stories, how much it moves to walk into their home and see pictures I’ve taken on their walls, to know that I play a part in capturing moments, emotions, expressions and freezing time even if only for a few seconds.  Jessica and her adorable children are a perfect example,  we did a family session about two years ago and the other day her son Josh was looking at the pictures on their wall and said “Mom we need new pictures, it’s time for an update.”  Smart kid, or should I say man as he is now 16 and has facial hair and is starting to plan for college (time flies!!!).

So last Saturday I met them at their new place near Jack London square and we had a blast shooting in their new hood.  Can’t wait until next time!

NYC Adventures | Part1 | Congratulations Mo & Drea

Shot w/ our Olympus OM-D…it’s pretty awesome!

We had the pleasure of attending Andrea & Mo’s wedding last month in NYC (well Jersey to be exact) and it was a freakin’ blast!  From the second we stepped into the SFO airport until we landed back here it was a non-stop party (our over-worked livers can attest to how much fun we had).  This is just a taste from the first 3 days!  Thank you to our fabulous hosts…can’t wait til we go back!

Congratulations Mo & Drea, I hope your honeymoon is everything you wanted it to be!

Mariah & Hedger are Having a Baby! | Maternity | Niles

I’m so excited to share this session because Mariah and Hedger have been friends of mine for years…it’s crazy to get the point in life when you can say you’ve been friends with people for years!  Anywhoot, now they are expecting a little boy or a little girl and we (our posse) couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome their new life.  In  our usual fashion Mariah’s maternity session was a group event with Annie’s backyard as our backdrop (we did Annie’s session here 2 1/5 years ago before the birth of her adorable twin daughters who can be seen below being sassy little models) and Margo as the stylist and with Mariah striped down almost nothing until we took full advantage of the afternoon sun and gorgeous fabrics until our final group shot complete with outfits for everyone including me and the dogs!  We finished our afternoon with a delicious BBQ and time around the fire pit reminiscing on our days as young ladies running a muck (and while we can still get down, with the get down, the truth is we are all growing up and embarking on our next adventure).

I love you guys and can’t wait to get the call to join you in the delivery room and welcome your little schmoo into the world!  Congratulations you are going to be amazing parents!
