Having shoots like this is so much of why I love my job, when I get to be a part of your story, part of the special moments, the kind of moments that change your life forever. Meet Ryan & Liliana (again), they are clients who have become friends and I have loved every adventure we have taken and I couldn’t be more happy for them and their new chapter…a baby!!!
Two years ago (almost to the day of our session) Ryan called me on a Sunday night asking if I was available two days later to shoot his City Hall Elopement to his soon to be wife Liliana (I LOVE how spontaneous elopements can be…so romantic!). So we met in the lobby, signed the paperwork and had a intimate ceremony just me the judge and the two love birds, then we hoped in a limo and drove around the city shooting and had a fabulous afternoon celebrating there love…see!
THEN 6 months later Ryan called me and said we’re having our big celebratory wedding in Mexico with our friends and family…can we bring you down to capture our next chapter? My answer was…DUH!!! Of course I would love to, so we did (Justine came too…bestie vacation!). Gorgeous right?
So in their usual style Ryan gave me a call on a Sunday afternoon…”Hey Chloe, guess what we’re having a baby! ” Me: “What?!?! That’s so exciting, I’ve been waiting for this news from you guys! When are you guys due?” Ryan: “In 3 days, think we can schedule a maternity shoot?” Me: “What?!?! 3 days! Holy crap! This is why I love you guys..let’s do it!” So on her due date we went on a wild adventure through the Presidio ending at Baker Beach, where their Elopement session ended 2 years earlier. It was cold and windy and Liliana was an absolute rockstar changing from one little outfit to another and it was all worth it becuase lil’ Valentina is going to have wonderful, loving images of her parents BV (get it? Before Valentina!). I can’t wait to meet her!
…and just to bring it full circle we took this one again, but instead of a wedding dress and a suit, it parents getting ready for their very first lil’ schmoo!
I had the honor of meeting the Shaffer’s this past fall when I did some work with Parker & Reagan’s pre-school and I was thrilled when Kristi emailed and said it was time to go play outside again and even more excited when she said it was a Mother’s Day surprise for her Mother-in law! We had a blast chasing ducks, picking purple flowers, finding secret stairs, playing 1-2-3 and hanging from the trees. Can’t wait until we do it again!
On a beautiful spring day in May, best friends spent the morning in separate rooms getting ready for one of the most important days of their lives, the day two become one and vow to share the rest of their lives together and they did it in style. We loved every moment, every detail and every sweet word that was spoken.
Thomas and Nicole are best friends, soul mates, lovers and two of the sweetest people I know. I’m so honored to have them in my life and even more honored that they chose us to capture this fabulous celebration. Their vows were touching and still found away to make us giggle, the speeches were hilarious (Thomas really took a beating, but I think it was worth it because we all laughed so hard…orange is totally his color and we can’t forget about the wise genie and his 3 wishes), the flowers were delicate and perfect, the food was superb and the dance party felt like we danced all night long! Surrounded by the family and friends who love them Thomas and Nicole had the perfect celebration of their lifelong commitments to each other. Congratulations Love Birds!
xo,
Thank you to my amazing second shooter, business buddy & bestie Justine!
My adorable baby cousin Valentina is already 7 months old, I feel like I just got the call that she had blessed the world with her presence and now she’s 7 months old, before you know she’ll be 16!!! Which is why I was so excited when my cousin’s asked me to come do a session and even more excited when I saw ALL the fabulous outfits, I mean seriously they were so stylish (I really wish they came in my size…especially the giraffe swim suit set!).
So Mike & I made a day of it, going to their house after our friends wedding the day before. In usual Brent & Yolanda style we ate delicious food, enjoyed fabulous wine and had a fantastic day with our family!
Happy first Mother’s Day Yo! Love you guys!!!
